ID photo size maker

Upload a portrait, pick a specification, position the head inside the frame, and get a photo at the exact pixel size required.

    How to use it

    1. Choose a specification: 1-inch, 2-inch, passport, US visa, Japan visa and more.
    2. Upload a front-facing photo in even light (a phone's rear camera works best).
    3. Use zoom so the head fills the frame with the crown near the upper dashed line.
    4. Fine-tune with the horizontal and vertical offsets; the chin should sit near the lower line.
    5. Generate: you get the exact pixel dimensions. Tick the sheet option to also get eight copies on one page.

    When this tool helps

Most of what a photo studio charges for is knowing the specification — 25×35mm for a 1-inch photo, 35×49mm for 2-inch, 51×51mm for a US visa, and the exact pixel counts that follow from 300dpi. Those numbers are already worked out here; you only have to frame the head. The sheet layout solves the second annoyance: print shops charge per sheet, so eight copies on one 6-inch page means a single print run. Everything happens in the browser, so photographs of identity documents never leave your device.

Three things decide whether an ID photo passes: the head occupies about 60–70% of the height, there is roughly 10% clearance above the crown, and the background is plain with no shadow. Get those right first, then worry about size.

    FAQ

Where do the pixel counts come from?

From 300dpi — about 11.8 pixels per millimetre. A 25×35mm photo is 295×413 pixels, the figure most application systems expect.

What should I watch when printing?

Set the print scale to 100% (actual size) rather than "fit to page", otherwise the photo shrinks. The sheet is 1200×1800 pixels, matching 6-inch paper.

    Can it replace the background?

Not automatically — that needs an AI matting model, which would break this site's no-upload, zero-cost design. The background colour option only fills the blank area left when the photo is zoomed out.

    Why prefer the rear camera?

Front cameras distort and often smooth skin, which can get a photo rejected. Rear camera, even light and a plain wall is the dependable combination.

    Which specifications are included?

    1-inch 25×35mm, small 1-inch 22×32mm, 2-inch 35×49mm, small 2-inch 35×45mm, large 1-inch 33×48mm, passport 33×48mm, US visa 51×51mm and Japan visa 45×45mm.

    Are photos uploaded?

No. Cropping, resizing, layout and output all happen on your device.
