QR code generator

Type a link or some text and get a QR code instantly. Change the colours and size, then download a PNG or a crisp vector SVG.

Upload and process

Runs locally

This tool needs no file upload — type your content below.

Bare domains get https:// automatically. WeChat cannot display plain-text codes — use the phone camera or Alipay.

Files are processed on your device and never uploaded. Nothing is stored on any server.

How to use it

  1. Enter a URL, some text or contact details in the content field.
  2. Adjust the pixel size and quiet-zone width if you need to.
  3. For print work, set the foreground and background colours — keep the contrast high.
  4. The preview updates as you type; check it before downloading.
  5. Download a PNG for screens, or an SVG for print (sharp at any size).

When this tool helps

Most free QR generators hide one of two catches: the code carries someone else's branding, or it silently stops working later because it is a redirect code that depends on their server. This tool produces a standard QR code with the content encoded directly in the pattern — nothing sits between the scan and the destination, so it never expires. UTF-8 is fully supported, the output is clean enough for business cards and packaging, and the SVG export stays sharp at any print size.

Leave the quiet zone intact (4 modules by default) and never print a code smaller than about 2cm across, or phone cameras will struggle.

FAQ

Will the code expire?

No. The content is encoded in the pattern itself and does not rely on any server or short-link service, so a printed code keeps working.

Why do some tools say their codes can expire?

Those generate redirect codes: the pattern stores their server address, which then forwards to your URL. That lets them count scans and disable codes at will. This tool does not do that.

What error correction level is used?

Level M, which recovers roughly 15% damage — a scuffed print or a sticker over one corner will usually still scan. It is the usual balance between density and resilience.

How much text fits?

Versions 1 to 10 are supported, up to about 213 bytes — roughly 70 Chinese characters or 213 ASCII characters. Very long URLs are better shortened first.

Can I change the colours?

Yes, both foreground and background, but mind the contrast. Dark modules on a light background is the reliable combination; inverted codes fail on some scanners.

How do I know the code is correct?

Scan the screen with your phone camera. That is the definitive test — the generator runs its own structural checks, but a real device scan is what matters.
